What happens at the School Circus Workshops?
Circus Show
School Circus Workshops centres on Fun…it begins in the circus ring with Adrian Catch presenting a fun 20 minute Circus Show that has lots of audience interaction and demonstrates how to use all of the circus equipment.
Skills Training
The circus equipment includes juggling (balls, rings, clubs & scarves), diabolo’s, devil sticks, poi, plate spinning, bucket stilts, handheld stilts and pedal go’s are then divided into several stations and everyone is invited to try their hand at mastering the circus skills.
Often circus students learn different skills at different speeds so we begin the circus challenges on an individual basis so each student can find their particular forte and then become the teacher and be there to encourage others.
Having many circus skills to learn at the school circus workshops means everyone has a chance to find something they excel at so when we have two or more people at a similar level at the same discipline they can be grouped together to perform their chosen tricks as a team!
The Performance!
After putting in the graft Adrian invites one and all to show off their newly found circus skills and perform them for their fellow students in the circus ring. Whether they choose to perform individually or as a group, it’s entirely up to themselves.
Competition Time
To bring the school circus workshop to a fun conclusion we close with a fun ‘Pedal Go Grand Prix’, plus the infamous ‘Bucket Stilt-Walking Race’
Hands-On Tuition
Adrian will be on hand to supervise, encourage and teach the circus students throughout the workshop, thus ensuring everyone has hands-on tuition and adheres to the safety instructions.
